Through personal connections I was afforded the opportunity to record the Washington State National Guard. Amongst a treasure trove of recordings I captured that day, I captured forty-two discrete main gun discharges of live rounds down range from the Abrams M1A2. (As a comparison, there are a few businesses which will let you shoot blanks from Sherman for $1000 a pop.) I was recording with a Sennheiser 416 and Rode NTG2 on a Sound Devices 633.
